Why convert a PNG to SVG?
A PNG stores a fixed number of pixels. Scaled up for a banner, a print or a high-density screen, its edges become blurry or jagged. An SVG describes shapes instead of pixels: it can be enlarged without limit and usually weighs less for simple graphics.
Pixlss detects the palette of your PNG, leaves out the background color and traces each color area as a shape. Corners stay sharp, nearly straight edges become perfect segments and rounded ones true circular arcs.
How it works
Drop your image
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP or TIFF, up to 20 MB. Drag it in, browse your files or paste it with Ctrl+V.
Vectorize
Colors are detected, the background is removed, and outlines become curves, straight lines and circular arcs.
Refine and download
Compare with the original, tweak the settings or the shapes in the editor, then download the SVG file.
Frequently asked questions
Is the transparency of my PNG kept?
Yes. The background is not traced: the color that dominates along the edges of the image is left out, so the SVG has a transparent background, whether the PNG was transparent or not.
Which PNG images convert best?
Icons, logos, flat illustrations, diagrams and pixel art. A PNG photograph can be converted too, but the result is a stylized image with a limited number of colors.
How many colors will the SVG have?
As many as the image needs, detected automatically. You can also set a maximum, up to 16 colors, in the advanced settings.
