Frequently asked questions
What does vectorizing an image mean?
A PNG or JPG image is a grid of pixels: enlarge it and it turns blurry or jagged. Vectorizing it means redrawing it as geometric shapes (curves, lines, arcs) described in an SVG file. The result stays sharp at any size and is easy to edit.
Which images give the best results?
Logos, icons, pictograms, flat-color illustrations and line drawings. Photographs, made of gradients and fine detail, are less suited to vectorization.
Which formats are supported?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP and TIFF, up to 20 MB. The result is an SVG file, readable by web browsers and by vector drawing software such as Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma.
Can I choose the number of colors?
Yes. By default, the number of colors is detected from the image; the advanced settings let you set a maximum, up to 16. Black & white mode traces the image in a single color, using an adjustable threshold.
Can I edit the SVG before downloading it?
Yes. The built-in editor lets you move points and curve handles, transform, combine or delete shapes, and change their color.
